During the next day or so the Sun moves up conjoin Orcus in Virgo. Mike Brown, the astronomer credited with the discovery of Eris, labels Orcus as “the other Pluto.” Orcus, in Etruscan mythology, was the equivalent of Pluto. Orcus was tasked with ensuring that those who took oaths kept those oaths. Those who did not live up to those proclamations must endure the wrath of Orcus, which indeed, is Plutonian in nature. Here comes the Sun, shining the best he’s got all over the realm of promises, oral commitments, vows and oaths.
As far as the Sun is concerned, given he associates with self-identity and self referentialism, he observes that promises and vows made to yourself (and perhaps with your Creator in mind) and the most important in all Creation. So, here the Sun states: be precise, be honest and forthright about your intention, be committed to the original idea you had in mind and do everything in power to ensure its successful implementation. When you state proclamations, clearly believe that you are up to the task and capable of fully manifesting all that you promise. Sometimes it works to add a positive bribe for yourself upon completion of your declared objective. Isn’t that cheating? By whose doctrines and rules would that be cheating? Or so would ask ones conscience.
Shortly thereafter the conjunction with Orcus, the Sun opposes Saturn in Pisces (7 September) and shortly after that (12 September) he advances to square Jupiter. This latter aspect deserves beau coup attention given that the two most massive objects in the solar system engage with one another. But first, Sun to Saturn.
The Sun to Saturn is not to be defined per the old school astrological parameters of Saturn to the Sun. Saturn to the Sun classically is defined to be a thwarting of ones personal energy. There are many ways to deal with Saturn that does not assume he intends only negation and diminishment. Like consciously assuming tasks assigned by life and doing them well. Here the Sun saunters to Saturn, enhances his emanations to maximum intensity, and blasts the ringed wonder with his light, his competence and the totality of his capability, gravitational dominance and greatness.
Saturn now stands in Pisces. Most likely his response comes off as emotional, and as such, contradicts the essence of the logical sequencing of self the Sun had in mind while shaded by Virgo. The time is disorienting. The reality check that comes into play asks if what is being declared rings true on every inner level. While this may cause pause, the interrogative asks if a person is aligned with proclamations made or not. It’s a reality check for “fake it, ‘til you make it” or “act as if.” Saturn seeks to confirm that emotionally one is solid within ones confidence and all projections made. Seeing this from the Virgo side of things, this separates the wheat from the chaff.
The Sun with Saturn’s sanction, then proceeds to square Jupiter. Here, the Sun stresses one must present oneself consistent with ones being. Be clear and brief with all proclamations here. Too many details overwhelm the recipient of overstated communication. Yet, ensure that everything that must be declared gets said and is articulated in clear and concise manners.
Again, within this square of the Sun to Jupiter, the two most massive bodies in the solar system engage through tension and a scramble for priority. Because of their mass, these two bodies assert the solar system’s most extensive gravitational influences. So what if two individuals claim they hold the same objective and possess different ideas for how this should come about? Sounds like a collision of self with others happens during the transit. Is this about method? Is it purely technique? Is it about being right? Or knowing more than the potential partner? Coming off the Saturn transit, if perceiving any inadequacy or incompetence in contrasting self with others, one may resort to attempts to diminish those others. This will fall short of ideal objectives.
Keep in mind that this Sun in Virgo sequence commenced with you promising yourself what you will do regardless of others. Should others be able to align and not feel compromised or negated, cool. They then can partner up once all options and alternatives have been expressed.
Resort to offering alternatives without insistence or making reference to the intelligence level of those who are resistant or the ability of others to execute that which they have not been trained to complete. Share methods and solutions. Consider that new ideas are best perceived as things not yet realized. And above remember, the transits intend to create a cooperative team... much like high-spirited horses harnessed to the same troika it is their charge to power over the land.
